Tottenham to reward Kieran Trippier with new five-year deal and will now consider selling Kyle Walker

Tottenham are ready to offer a new five year contract to right-back Kieran Trippier.

The England international pushed his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans to such an extent last season that Tottenham are willing to sell Kyle Walker for the right price.

Manchester City remain keen on Walker though the £40m-plus asking price remains the obvious hurdle.

Trippier, who had interest from Everton this year, has also earned his call-up into Gareth Southgate’s England starting line-up and is expected to make a bigger impact next season.

The 26-year-old is already contracted until 2020 though is ready to sign the new deal when he returns from holiday.

Tottenham have an interest in Porto’s Ricardo Pereira but are weighing up other options also should Walker depart.

A move for Everton’s Ross Barkley remains unlikely at this stage, particularly with the Goodison Park club’s current high valuation at around £50m for the 23-year-old who has one year left on his contract.

Everton, meanwhile, will announce the signing of Sandro Ramirez from Malaga on Thursday. Everton scouts have also checked on Corinthians left-back Guilherme Arana.
